Dr Pepper Ballpark, Home of the Frisco Rough Riders

Frisco, Texas is a giant shopping center. I'm sorry if you live there and are offended by this, but you know it's true. The best example? On one side of Dr Pepper Ballpark is a giant mall, and on the other is an Ikea. But that's okay, Friscites. Friscoans. Whatever you call yourselves.

You know why? Because you've got a beautiful ballpark in your city.

Tucked into the middle of a shopping district is one of the finest minor league stadiums you'll ever visit. It has a wide concourse, New England fishing village suites and offices ringing the stands, and a lazy river in right field.

That's right. LAZY FRICKIN' RIVER.

You can float for three hours and watch a baseball game and maybe catch a home run. Where else can you do that? Nowhere, that's where.

No matter where you sit in this park you're going to have a great view.

There's a playground for the kids, in case you want to spend money for a baseball game only to have your child completely ignore the game and have the exact same experience they could've gotten at the local park.

Just so you know--if you take your kid to a baseball game and let them waste three hours in a playground, don't be surprised if they become a communist later in life. Seriously, this is my only problem with this ballpark.

As far as the food goes, you've got some pretty standard fare. Hotdogs, average burgers, barbecue (because Texas), and Dippin Dots. There's the Bull Moose Saloon, which serves a ton of different beers, some of which are local. What captured my attention (and taste buds), though, was the bratwursts.

This isn't a great photo, but this brat was ridiculous. It's topped with grilled sauerkraut and mustard. There's a foot long version available, but I wanted to save room for dessert.

That, ladies and gentlemen, is a deep fried Oreo ice cream sundae. It's an ice cream sundae with about ten deep fried Oreo cookies jammed into it. It'll make you feel awful afterward, but you'll be a very happy person while you're eating it. They also serve a brownie ice cream sundae and peach cobbler topped with ice cream. But this is the king of all desserts at Dr Pepper Ballpark.

The players on both teams are always accessible since they're in the minors and haven't developed an ego yet. You'll always see someone signing autographs for kids.

The kids also get to run the bases after the game. That's pretty cool.

Dr Pepper Ballpark is one of the best places you'll ever watch baseball. There's a great crowd that loves baseball, a beautiful stadium, and a baseball club that runs some of the coolest promotions in the minor leagues. They had Full House night in 2015, complete with Dave Coulier in attendance to sign autographs.

Next time you're in North Texas in the summer, check it out.
